Ms. Y.I. (31yo) is spending a daily life where she laughs and cries with her children, and that simple happiness is simply normal. But this is her experience that such a normal happy life was not a promised normal life at all. Six years ago, she was diagnosed with endometriosis, a cyst about 6 cm long in her left ovary during a health checkup. The doctor explained that first, medication would stop menstruation to shrink the tumor, and then, since natural conception would likely be difficult, infertility treatment would be considered. When she heard that, she was shocked and at a loss. Because she was going to get married soon. She asked herself many times why she faced such a bad situation. Since she had been received the Jorei-Healing since she was a child, she discussed with her family and tried to receive as many Jorei-Healing as possible at the branch office or at home after work. But to be honest, at that time, she wasn’t very honest with the Jorei-Healing. She was busy with work and didn’t receive Jorei-Healing much, and she didn’t visit the branch much. Also, she felt a sense of resistance about why she had to face such a hard experience despite always believed in the Jorei-Healing. At that time, she was afraid to imagine her own future and she ignored her a daily protection through the Jorei-Healing. Then, not long after the wedding, she became pregnant, but she couldn’t honestly be happy. Rather than being grateful for the miracle of pregnancy, she was more anxious about whether she could give birth safely. After that, severe morning sickness continued until the day before the birth, followed by anemia and the baby in her belly becoming a breech, so things were far from smooth. However, she had two wishes. One is to have a natural birth at a maternity clinic (not a hospital). Another is breastfeeding. Because she had endometriosis, she was told she couldn’t give birth at a maternity center until just before giving birth and didn’t know if she had to go to the hospital, but hearing their approach at that time surprised her and felt relieved. The reason was that she was told to listen to her body’s voice and follow the natural flow without overexertion, and that idea overlapped with the teachings of the Meishu-sama she had heard since childhood. Until then, she had seen the teachings of the Meishu-sama as something to strive for, but only then did she feel that they were something she naturally lived in her daily life. On the day of delivery, during labor, her husband was doing the Jorei-Healing beside of her. It was so pain she had never experienced before, but strangely, she felt a greater sense of relief than fear. Then, at the maternity clinic, she could safely give birth to her daughter naturally. After being discharged, the director of the maternity hospital told her, “This delivery was due to abnormal circumference, so normally I would have rushed her to the hospital for a cesarean section, but the delivery was very rapid, and I judged that transporting her would be more dangerous, so finally became natural delivery.” Also, she heard that since the baby was born wrapped in membranes without her water breaking, both mother and baby were protected from massive bleeding and infection. When the director said, “I feel like this child is being protected by something big, invisible,” everything that had happened so far connected in a single line. The moment she thought, “We have always been protected,” tears naturally welled up and she sincerely expressed her gratitude and apologies to Meishu-sama. And for another wish, breastfeeding, she still wasn’t producing milk on the 3rd day after giving birth, and the evening of the 4th day was the deadline. As the artificial milk preparation progressed, she thought to herself, “I should stop asking to Meishu-sama for help any longer,” but she put her hands together one last time. Then, to her surprise, breast milk started coming out right after that. What a miracle. Tears overflowed. Since then, her baby has continued to drink breast milk, and is growing up healthy on it. Whenever she looks at her daughter’s sleeping face, she sometimes recalls her own painful times. And she is grateful that she could live happy days that she couldn’t have imagined back then. Through childbirth, she truly felt that the life and future, which we thought were naturally given, were not taken for granted, but were under the great protection of Meishu-sama. She learned that practicing teachings of Meishu-sama is not something special, but rather about becoming aware of the protection in daily life. She will continue to practice Meishu-sama’s teachings and strive to become people who contribute to the sacred work.
